Seminar: The power of long term pension and investment saving within taxefficient structures
On 30 October Goodwille invited Mathias Nessim from MNA Partnership Ltd to explain and talk about the importance of pension saving and about how important it actually is to plan ahead even though it might not be the most pressing topic for the time being. When you have taken the smart decision to start funding for your retirement, you need to find the best way to invest and the type of contract that best suits your needs. Investments are always a source of discussion and especially in times of uncertainty and unrest in worldwide markets like we are experiencing now. Mathias explained the benefits of long term pension saving in the UK along with an overview of other tax efficient saving vehicles. Thank you to all of you who joined us.

Brian Mullis, who has previously worked with clients lika IKEA, BMW and Mercedes-Benz visited Goodwille on 7 October to talk about ‘cultures’ of behaviour. The consequences of a happy and positive disposition can be found in quicker, more effective work, stronger staff relations, clearer communication, increased sales and profits, reduced complaints, a healthier attitude to meet the challenges ahead and a satisfactory and contented family life. He taught us that cultural transformation is necessary to become fitter for the challenges ahead- the programme starts and ends with the individual and the way he or she thinks and behaves. Brians methods were simple but testing and were delivered in an empathetic manner and he also injected humour into the teaching. A big thank you to Brian Mullis and to all our guest. And remember the wise maxim we were taught: I allow myself to be happy today - and everyone else to be right.

Carl-Magnus claimed that it is a company’s product or services combined with a positioning and key equities that fills a need for consumers. Having a strong brand is key in ensuring a company’s success. A “brand ambassador” is any key communicator within the organisation. Provided you are a key communicator you are at the leveraging interface of your brand. Your task is to communicate the brand, to portray it and to live it. Ideally the qualities of your personal brand should match and mirror those of the corporate brand.
Thank you to all of you who joined us!

Seminar: Are you aware of the new pension legislations for expats?
Michael Nessim is a director of the MNA Partnership Ltd. On 5 June he was kind enough to talk to Goodwille’s clients and friends about the importance of planning ahead and about the changes to the UK pension legislation. The new rules on pensions are interesting news for future non-UK residents, who will be able to transfer their accrued pension fund abroad when they intend to leave the UK for a period in excess of five years. We all got the opportunity to share our thoughts and queries. After the seminar we enjoyed quiche and wine together.
Since the event was so useful we are planning on making a re-run of it in the autumn. Please keep your eyes and ear open if you missed the seminar this time.

Seminar: What is wrong with banks and bankers?
Roger Bootle from Capital Economics visited Goodwille on 20 May to talk about banks and bankers and how we can escape from the mess that they have created. As well as being Managing Director of Capital Economics, he is also Economic Adviser to Deloitte, a Specialist Adviser to the House of Commons Treasury Committee, and the author of four books and many articles on economics. He is also a regular columnist on the Daily Telegraph. He was formerly Group Chief Economist at HSBC and, before the change of Government he was appointed one of the Chancellor’s panel of economic forecasters.
His talk covered such topics as bankers’ pay and how banks should be regulated. It also touched on the subjects of free markets versus
regulation and on the nature of capitalism and the society we live in. There were naturally a lot of questions and discussions after Roger Bootles talk. Thank you to all of you who joined us!

On 17 April Martin Best from the Corporate Theater held a seminar at Goodwille called “The art of inspirational speaking”. We got to attend a really interesting, different and, of course, inspirational seminar. Martin Best showed us how to create and sustain energy, how your imagination can help you tell your story and why people listen to
you – and why they don’t. People looking through the window from outside probably wondered what was going on when they saw thirty people in a room waving their arms and breathing heavily. After the seminar the attendees got the chance to chat with Martin Best whilst enjoying a glass of wine and eating some delicious mini bagels. A big thank you to everyone who joined us!

Seminar: How to sell on the UK Market
On 11 March Goodwille, together with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, hosted a "Welcome to London" - LINK-Briefing in Stockholm. The afternoon included an exhibition, a seminar and networking. Linda Pettersson from the Swedish Trade Council in London gave us a presentation focusing on economy. She also gave us advice on cultural differences between Sweden and the UK. Romy Sembi talked about how to sell on the UK market and how to reach, attract and retain good sales people. He gave us lots of hands on advice on tricky things. In a truly British style we had afternoon tea and later on we shared a glass of wine together. Thank you to all of you who joined us!
